President approves appointment of Major Gen Retired Niaz Muhammad Khan Khattak as Member Federal Public Service Commission

Islamabad, July 18, 2012 (PPI-OT): President Asif Ali Zardari today on the advice of the Prime Minister has approved appointment of Major General (Retd) Niaz Muhammad Khan Khattak as Member Federal Public Service Commission.

The Summary received from the Prime Minister’s office said that a post of Member Federal Public Service Commission had fallen vacant due to completion of tenure of Major General (Retd.) Ovais Mushtaq Qureshi with effect from 05th May 2012. He was appointed against the post of Member Federal Public Service Commission reserved for retired armed forces officers.

The nomination of Major General (Retd) Niaz Muhammad Khan Khattak was recommended by the Defence Division, it said. Accordingly, the Establishment division proposed the said appointment for a normal term of three years and requested the Prime Minister to advise the President for the appointment of Major General (Retd) Niaz Muhammad Khan Khattak as Member, Federal Public Service Commission against reserved post of retired officers of the Armed Forces.
