Islamabad, December 10, 2012 (PPI-OT): “The presence of the business community, executives of the national and multi-national companies and the professionals in such large number demonstrates their passion and commitment to further strengthen trade and people-to-people relations between Pakistan and the Qatar”, said Chaudhery Wajahat Hussain, Federal Minster for Human Resource Development while speaking to Qatari Delegation which called on him here today. Secretary HRD, Mr. Raja Ahsan, Director General Bureau of Emigration, Mr. Habib-ur-Rehman, Managing Director, Overseas Employment Cooperation, Mr. Sheikh Saeed Ahmed, JS, Ministry of HRD, Ch. Ayub and other officials were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, The Federal Minister said “The annual meetings of Joint Committee would pave way for the export of Pakistani manpower to State of Qatar, which would be in need of highly skilled, skilled and non-skilled work force, in the wake of FIFA World Cup Event in 2022”. He further added that Pakistan was a gateway to South and East Asia and the Middle East, offering liberal trade and investment climate, and was blessed with talented and hard-working manpower, rich mineral resources and plentiful agriculture production.
While expressing the fervor of Pakistani brethren for the People of Qatar, the Minister said, “Pakistan enjoys deep and cordial relations with Qatar in almost all fields. The last 40 years have witnessed the strengthening and diversification of our bilateral relations and the present democratic government is committed to further consolidating these bilateral relations”. He further mentioned that since Pakistan had religious affinity with Qatar so it would be a matter of great pleasure for her to be in a position to contribute to the economic development of Qatar.
The federal secretary for Human Resource Development Raja Ahsan said, “Pakistan offers vast opportunities for foreign direct investments and joint ventures in infrastructure development, electricity generation, agricultural based industries, insurance and real estate”. He briefed the delegation about the work done by the ministry and the initiatives launched by government.
Earlier, Managing Director, Overseas Employment Corporation Sheikh Saeed Ahmed said, “Pakistan has a huge market of around 180 million people and resilient economic fundamentals despite the heavy odds that the country faced during intermittent floods and the menace of war on terror”.
While speaking on the occasion, Mr. Fawaz Mohammad Al-Rees, Director of Labour Employment representing Qatari Delegation assured Qatar’s continued support to Pakistan in all areas of human development.
