Preparations for competitions in Punjab International Sports Festival phase II begins

Lahore, April 18, 2014 (PPI-OT): After the successful completion of Punjab International Sports Festivals phase I, Sports Board Punjab has vigorously started the preparations for the Punjab International Sports Festivals phase II. In this regard the selection process of different teams who would be participating in the competitions of phase II is underway.

The games of Kabaddi (Men and Women), Wrestling, weightlifting , Judo Karate (Men and Women), Tug of War, Hockey, Football, Volleyball, Touchball, Handball and other sports events are inducted in the competitions of phase II.

Assistant Director SBP, Waqas Akbar; Public Relation Officer, Abdul Rouf Rufi and News Editor, Anjum Kazmi have begun visiting different cities to ensure the arrangements for selection of probable players for the training camps.

SBP team will visit Faisalabad on Saturday, and will review the arrangements for the selection process and training camps. Assistant Director Waqas Akbar while talking to media said that the youth of the country has learnt alot during competitions of PYF and PISF phase I.

To enhance the sporting skills of youth further, SBP will hold Punjab International Sports Festival Phase II in which more than 50 teams from different countries would participate. To participate in the phase II competitions many countries have contacted us and have shown their interest to tour Pakistan, this is another example of the PYFs popularity at the International level.
