Karachi, May 12, 2012 (PPI-OT): Pakistan and Iran enjoy deep friendly ties which are growing further with the passage of time. This was stated by the Sindh Governor, Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan, on Friday.
He was talking to a delegation led by Mayor of the Iranian city of Mashhad, Syed Muhammad Pezman, who called on him at the Governor House here.
The Administrator of Karachi Metropolitan Corporation (KMC), Muhammad Hussain Syed, and Municipal Commissioner, Matanat Ali Khan, were also present on the occasion.
The Governor said that Pakistan is desirous of enhancing its relations with all the neighbouring countries including Iran. He stated that this augurs well that Karachi and Mashhad are trying to promote their cooperation.
Dr. Ebad said that the cooperation can be enhanced in transportation, education, solid waste management etc.
The Mayor of Mashhad, Syed Muhammad Pezman, called for further enhancing the cooperation at government and public levels.
He also praised the role of Karachi as the business and commercial hub.
Pezman also extended an invitation to the Governor Sindh, Dr. Ishrat Ul Ebad Khan, on behalf of Governor of Mashhad, to visit Mashhad. Dr. Ebad accepted the invitation and said that he would undertake the visit at an appropriate time.
