Peshawar, May 25, 2012 (PPI-OT): The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Sports, Tourism, Archeology and Youth Affairs, Syed Aqil Shah has directed the concerned authorities of C and W Department to ensure quality construction of Charkhana Road, Nauthia Jadeed with laying of 2 inches pre-mix over it. The directives to this effect were issued by Syed Aqil Shah during he inspection of Char Khana Road on Thursday.
SDO Mir Akram and Overseer Faiz Muhammad of C and W Department and other officials were present with the minister on the occasion. Syed Aqil Shah said that he wished to see quality construction of the said road which would cost 8.191 million rupees.
He warned that if construction of the said road proved to be substandard and its pre-mix was found below 2 inches, then payment to the concerned contractor would be stopped. The concerned authorities of C and W department assured the quality construction of the said road.
Earlier, Provincial Sports, Minister Syed Aqil Shah inaugurated the newly constructed rooms at Govt Girls Primary School Railway Quarters and GHS Salwan Peshawar Cantt. Addressing on the occasion, Syed Aqil Shah said that for the progress and development of a nation, education played a pivotal role.
He said the present provincial government was giving much importance to quality education that was why the government has raised the development fund in education sector in the forthcoming budget to a record level which would prove fruitful.
EDO Elementary and Secondary Education Peshawar, Hakimullah Khan, District Officer Iftikhar Ahmad, XEN Javed Akbar and SDO Muhammad Arif of C and W department besides wards presidents Tariq-uz-Zaman, Zahid Hussain and Iqbal Hussain Awan were present on the occasion.
Syed Aqil Shah announced the provision of an electric water cooler for GGPS Railway Quarters and 300 caps for the students of GHS Salwan Peshawar Cantt. It is worth mentioning here that Rs. 3.4 million and Rs. 10 million have been spent on the construction of GGPS Railway Quarters and GHS Salwan respectively.
