Islamabad, May 17, 2012 (PPI-OT): Dr. Muhammad Farooq Sattar, Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis has reached Australia on his 4-days official visit w.e.f.17 May 2012.
During this visit the Federal Minister for Overseas Pakistanis will be calling on his Australian counterpart i.e. the Immigration Minister to discuss matters relating to Overseas Pakistanis and problems being faced by them.
The minister will also discuss to explore avenues creating more horizons of employment opportunities for them. His visit will also cover the areas of bilateral issues, political matters of both the countries during the meetings arranged by their officials and Pakistani community.
The minister will also brief Overseas Pakistanis working abroad about the welfare schemes launched by the present government which include right to vote, housing schemes (including Chattar Pari (AJK) and Lahore Raiwind Road Phase-I), educational projects, Foreign Exchange Remittance Card (FERC),Smart-Card, Pakistan Remittance Initiative (PRI) and Revival of Overseas Pakistanis Pensioners’ Trust (OPPT).
Federal Minister also showed his firm commitment to serving Overseas Pakistanis while leaving for Australia.
