Lahore, May 23, 2012 (PPI-OT): As many as 11 Ambassadors/High Commissioners of the African countries will visit the first-ever LCCI “Africa Show” being held today (May 24th) at its premises.
The one-day Africa Show will have a conference and an exhibition in its fold. At the Conference the Ambassadors of all the African countries working in Pakistan would be presenting their papers on business opportunities in their respective countries and scope for Pakistani businessmen while at the exhibition these countries would be highlighting the commercial and cultural potential of the African region.
Throwing light on the very objectives of The Africa Show, the LCCI President Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, Senior Vice President Kashif Younis Meher and Convener of the Committee Zafar Mehmood said that the LCCI wants to give boost to Pakistan’s business with African region that is very small as compared to the potential exists in the two sides.
They said that Pakistan is a resource-rich country but it is only suffering because of unavailability of information and through this unique African Show at Lahore, the LCCI would be giving all trade related information to the business community.
They said that the African Embassies working in Pakistan have also been asked to also share the rules of business in their respective countries with Pakistani businessmen.
The LCCI President Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that The Africa Show would be third event in a row where the ambassadors would be directly interacting with the business community. He said that on April 14 an OIC conference was organized at Bhurban where the ambassadors of all the 57 Islamic countries took part and had detailed discussion with LCCI members on the available business opportunities and hurdle coming in the way of trade among Muslim countries.
Irfan Qaiser Sheikh said that on May 2, the Lahore Chamber of Commerce and Industry hosted a dinner for all the foreign ambassadors at President House Islamabad. And now through The Africa Show once again, the LCCI would be bringing the Ambassadors of African region to Pakistani businessmen.
The LCCI President said the The Africa Show would give considerable boost the Pakistan trade with African countries that have a huge potential in a number of sectors.
