Karachi, May 12, 2016 (PPI-OT):Advisor to Regional Office of Federal Ombudsman Muhammad Yameen has said that Power Users are being get rid of excess billing to provide free justice, he was hearing applications of citizens of District Malir and Korangi against overbilling of K-Electric. Muhammad Yameen said that problem of overbilling faced by citizen has been intense due to which applications are continue to be submitted against K-Electric. Applicant Syed Shakir Ali told Muhammad Yameen that he lives in house that just measuring 30 sq. yards but it could be guessed easily to see the billed amount that it is a bill for a large bungalow.
Muhammad Yameen ordered the representative of K-Electric to check the load of his house and submit the report so that exact consumption of power could be estimated. Hearing the application of applicant Jaffar Baig Advisor Muhammad Yameen ordered the representative to change his meter at K-Electric’s cost and send the bill in accordance with the new meter.
While hearing application of Muhammad Ramzan he announced the same kind of judgement and ordered to charge bill after three month’s meter reading. He said more that whatever excess amount has been paid by consumer, it be adjusted. Resident of Korangi Muhammad Nadeem said that he was send bills on approximation despite there is no meter that is exploitation. Advisor to Federal Ombudsman ordered to investigate the matter.
While addressing the complaint of Muhammad Shakeel, he ordered to change the meter on K-Electric’s cost and directed to send new bill on average basis. Hearing the application of women citizen Rizwana Sabeen, Muhammad Yameen eradicated overbilling and ordered to pay balance in 12 installments. Hearing other applications he eradicated the overbilling thus power users admired the authority of Federal Ombudsman and went back happily praying for that. Senior Officer of K-Electric Maroof Solangi and PRO, Regional Office of Federal Ombudsman Behleem Builqees Jan were also present at this occasion.
