Sindh Government has decided to expand the mother and child support programme to fifteen more districts of the province for poverty alleviation after its successful launch in Tharparkar and Umarkot.

This was informed to a meeting on social protection presided over by Sindh Caretaker Chief Minister Justice retired Maqbool Baqar in Karachi today.

Speaking at the meeting, the Chief Minister said poverty alleviation and health of women should be top priority of the government.

It was apprised in the meeting that under the programme sixty two thousand women have been registered and an amount of 165 million rupees has been earmarked in this regard.

The meeting was also informed that Sindh government in cooperation with World Bank has started Social protection delivery system in the province.
