Srinagar, March 19, 2017 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, Dukhtaran-e-Millat (DeM) has condemned the nocturnal police raid on the residence of party Chairperson, Aasiya Andrabi. Detailing about the incident, DeM General Secretary, Nahida Nasreen in a statement said that a large contingent of police raided Andrabi’s residence during the night with an intention to arrest her. “Andrabi was at one of her relatives’ home and there was no one at her residence. As per the eyewitnesses and the neighbors, the policemen barged inside through the walls,” she added.
Nasreen said that then policemen shattered the windows and doors of the residence. “Though no one was inside, these hooligans in uniform kept banging the doors and windows,” she said.
Nasreen said that later they desperately knocked the door of a nearby masjid and questioned the Imam about the whereabouts of the party chairperson.
Castigating police for this immoral and unlawful act, Nasreen said that it was threatening, unlawful as well as unruly of police to have raided the party chairperson’s residence.
Meanwhile, Indian police put Hurriyat leader and Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement, Zafar Akbar Butt under house arrest, today. He was coming back from Khoor Pattan when Saddar Police station arrested him and put him under house detention.
