Srinagar, November 13, 2016 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the family members of a youth of Nowhatta area of Srinagar, arrested by Indian police at Srinagar Airport, have said that the authorities have implicated him in a fake case.
The relatives of the youth, Dawood Mushtaq, told media men in Srinagar that Dawood was arrested at Srinagar airport, when he was about to fly for New Delhi. “Despite being innocent, he was taken to Cargo for interrogation wherefrom he was shifted to police station Khanyar in Srinagar,” they added.
Later, police invoked draconian Public Safety Act against Dawood Mushtaq and shifted him to Kot Bhalwal Jail in Jammu.
“Dawood’s only fault is that he is a relative of a Mujahid commander. We fail to understand why he was arrested?” they questioned. “We are not allowed to meet him and we are anxious about his safety,” the family said. When contacted a police official claimed that the arrested youth was a stone-palter, an allegation repeatedly denied by the family.
