Police foil bid to snatch car: gamblers and outlaws arrested

Islamabad: Islamabad Police on Wednesday nabbed 11 outlaws including gamblers from various areas of the city and recovered a car, two pistols, 12 bore gun, one lap top and stake money worth Rs. 44,000 from their possession, a police spokesman said.

According to details, Sub-Inspector Asjad Mehmud from Sabzi Mandi police station arrested a dacoit red-handed when he tried to drive away after snatching a cab and Rs. 3000 from Muhammad Aslam near IJP road at gun point.

A 30 bore pistol was also recovered from nabbed person. Sub-Inspector Muhammad Khan from Sabzi Mandi police apprehended Mir Muhammad for having 200 rounds of Kalashnikov.

Meanwhile, ASI Aurangzeb from Sihala police nabbed Abrar Hussain for having 12 bore gun and four cartridges. ASI Muhammad Arif from Bhara Kahu police arrested Aamir Javed for having 30 bore pistols. Sub-Inspector Asghar Ali from Ramna police arrested an accused Munir for having stolen lap top.

ASI Nasir Manzoor from Aabpara police arrested Waqar, Ghulam Hussain and Abdul Rehman for watching prone movies. ASI Muhammad Siddique from Koral police raided at gambling den and arrested Imran Mohsin, Malik Wajid, Shakeel ur Rehman besides recovering stake money worth Rs. 44,000, three mobile phones from them.

SSP Islamabad Muhammad Yousuf Malik has appreciated this performance and directed all police officials to intensify patrolling and vigilance against anti-social elements.

Two personnel of Islamabad Traffic Police (ITP) made their department `more proud when they returned the lost cash and signed cheque to its actual owner after finding it from Super market.

According to details, Assistant Sub-Inspectors Khalid and Tariq perfuming duty at Eagle Squad in super market found a wallet from Super market having Rs. 20,600, signed cheque of Rs. 150,000 and other important documents in it. They informed their In-Charge Inspector Ashraf Kahut about it and started search for its actual owner.

Through visiting cards of various persons in the wallet, they succeeded to trace the actual owner and returned it to him with all his belongings. The possessor of this wallet was identified as Bilal Shaukat running Eastern Poultry Farm in Rawalpindi and presently residing at sector I-10. He lost this purse during his visit to market.

DSP Imtiaz Khan formally handed over the purse to Bilal Shaukat who appreciated the good performance and honesty of ITP. SSP (Traffic) Dr. Moeen Masood and SP (Traffic) Mir Vais Niaz also appreciated this performance of cops and said ITP is a corruption free force and it has also elicited a great applaud from the citizens over honesty of its personnel, dedication as well hard work.
