Srinagar, April 20, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, a court in Sumbal has ordered the authorities concerned to declare the perpetrators of 1996 Saderkoot massacre proclaimed offenders, and inform them through advertisement to appear before the court within 30 days of the publication of the advertisement.
The Court of Judicial Magistrate Sumbal, Fariq Nazir, during hearing of the petition filed against the killers directed Deputy Commissioner Bandipora to attach immovable property of three culprits after declaring them as proclaimed offenders.
The directions came after police approached the court with the plea that the culprits were absconding and be declared as proclaimed offenders. The court directed the police to publish a written proclamation in a widely circulated newspaper requiring the three accused to appear before the court within 30 days from the date of publication of that notice.
It also directed the police to read the proclamation publicly in a conspicuous place of the town/village in which the accused reside. Police must affix the proclamation in some conspicuous part of the house in which the accused ordinarily reside, the court directed. Meanwhile, JKCCS in a statement expressed satisfaction over the court directions.
