People asked to boycott sham polls in Islamabad distt

Srinagar, June 21, 2016 (PPI-OT):In occupied Kashmir, Hurriyet leaders and organizations have urged the people of Islamabad to boycott the so-called by-elections in the district to be held tomorrow.

The All Parties Hurriyet Conference leaders, Yasmeen Raja and Farooq Tawheedi, in their separate statements in Srinagar said that such polls held under the shadow of gun had no credibility. They said that pro-India politicians had always help New Delhi to strengthen its illegal hold on Jammu and Kashmir. They also condemned the authorities of Delhi Public School for forcing a female teacher to resign for wearing Abaya.

The illegally detained noted religious scholar, Qazi Yasir in a statement issued in Srinagar said that elections could not be a substitute to the right to self-determination. He deplored that pro-India parties like National Conference and PDP always deceived the people in the name of votes and projected the participation in the voting process as victory of Indian democracy.

“These parties have ordered the arrest of dozens of youth and many youth are being harassed. The pro-freedom leaders and youth have been kept under detention to ensure no opposition to electoral process,” he added.

Meanwhile, the Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League, United Jihad Council and Hurriyet leader, Syed Saleem Gilani, in their statements issued in Srinagar also asked the people of Islamabad to completely boycott the so-called by-polls in the district. They said that casting vote was tantamount to helping tyrants and illegal occupiers. “The by-election in Islamabad district is nothing but fraud and deception and those who would participate in it will help tyrants and illegal occupiers and as such there should be a complete election boycott,” the statements added.
