Islamabad: Parliamentarians belonging to various political parties called on Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani at his Parliament House Chamber and felicitated him on convincing speech delivered by him yesterday on the floor of the House in which he responded to the allegations of the Opposition Leader and decided not to speak on the personal matters.
The Prime Minister said that he had launched the “Karwan-e-Tameer” from Phalia and Gojra recently and would tour right across the country in all constituencies to inaugurate the peoples’ friendly development projects completed during the tenure of the democratic government. A large number of projects have been completed by the democratic government with more than one trillion rupees.
The Prime Minister said that the political opponents were resorting to long march to harm democratic process but we have decided to launch “Karwan-e-Tameer” aimed at winning hearts and minds of people and strengthening democracy in the country.
The Parliamentarians who called on the Prime Minister included Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Syed Khursheed Shah, MNAs Syed Mumtaz Gilani, Mr. Sher Muhammad Baloch, Ms. Raheela Baloch, Mr. Rasheed Akbar Khan, Ms. Mehreen Razak Bhutto, Mr. Qamar Zaman Kaira, Mr. Humayun Aziz Kurd, Mr. Noman Langriyal, Nawab Ghani Talpur, Sardar Saleem Haider, Mr. Muhammad Saeed Khan Baloch, Mr. Ashraf Rana, Mr. Hayat Khan Tochi and MPAs Rana Muhammad Ghous, Engineer Bilal Kharral and Mr. Jadam Mangrio. Nawabzada Ghazanfar Ali Gul and Syed Latafat Hussain Bukhari also met the Prime Minister.
Talking to Syed Mumtaz Gilani, the Prime Minister said that he would visit his constituency to inaugurate the gas supply schemes in Bahawalnagar. The Prime Minister also approved three water supply schemes for his area.
Mr. Sher Muhammad Baloch, MNA thanked the Prime Minister for providing funds to execute electricity and gas supply schemes in his constituency.
Ms. Raheela Baloch apprised the Prime Minister of the development schemes undertaken in her constituency which will help the common people to improve their quality of life.
Mr. Hayat Khan Tochi underscored the importance of mobilizing the people in order to enable them to make knowledge based decisions of all the programmes of political parties. PPP was definitely poised to get mileage over others, he said.
Mr. Rasheed Akbar Khan in his meeting with the Prime Minister said to organize the tiers of party to prepare it for forthcoming elections in 2013.
Dr. Mehreen Bhutto requested for more funds as her constituency included in the worst rain affected area of Sindh.
Syed Latafat Hussain Bukhari during his meeting apprised the Prime Minister about development schemes in his area. The Prime Minister said that he would announce sui gas schemes for Sahiwal, Nahang and Jahania Shah districts.
