Paris, July 11, 2014 (PPI-OT): A Paris based Organization SAPNA is planning to organize South Asia Film Festival in February next year. Films from Bangladesh, India, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka will be screened in a Cinema in Paris. The films screened will be put in a competition with each other.
The organizers of South Asia Paris New Art (SAPNA) will invite directors of the movies selected for competition to create an atmosphere of festivity. They aim to include movies from South Asian countries depicting their mysterious culture, aspirations and driving forces in the lives of the people and feeling of love, hatred, jealousy etc. This is the 2nd edition of the event since 2011, says a press release received here today from Paris, France.
The organizers of the festival think that in the city of Paris which is the city of cinema, theatre and festivals there has been very little presence of South Asian films and other arts. The title for this year’s event is “Industry Bodies, Industry Hearts” which reflects marriage, love and other human passions. During last edition a Pakistani movie “Josh” was screened in a cinema in Paris.
Pakistani film makers and directors are encouraged to participate in the competition. The Embassy of Pakistan in Paris will coordinate and facilitate. SAPNA could be reached through their website: www.ffast.fr.
