Pakistan’s support to Kashmir cause hailed

Srinagar, February 05, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, the veteran Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani and other liberation leaders have expressed gratitude to the people and Government of Pakistan for observing the Kashmir Solidarity Day to show unity with the Kashmiri people engaged in a just struggle to secure their inalienable right to self-determination.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq during a meeting with the Pakistani High Commissioner to India, Mansoor Ahmad Khan, in New Delhi, today, maintained that Pakistan’s unflinching support to the Kashmir cause on moral, political and diplomatic levels had always been a source of inspiration for the Kashmiris.

Syed Ali Gilani in his message thanked the National Assembly of Pakistan for unanimously passing a resolution, supporting the Kashmiris’ struggle for right to self-determination.

Other Hurriyet leaders including Professor Abdul Ghani Butt, Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi, Maulana Abbas Ansari, Shabbir Ahmad Shah, Nayeem Ahmad Khan, Yasmeen Raja, Zafar Akbar Butt, Mukhtar Ahmed Waza, Musaddiq Aadil, Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Syed Bashir Andrabi, Muhammad Yousuf Naqash, Firdous Ahmad Shah, Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu and Kashmir, Jamaat-e-Islami, Jammu and Kashmir Peoples Movement and Jammu and Kashmir Muslim League in their messages hailed the people of Pakistan for showing solidarity with their Kashmiri brethren.

On the other hand, a signature campaign was launched by APHC leaders, Javed Ahmad Mir, Hakeem Abdur Rasheed and others at Press Colony in Srinagar to press for the return of mortal remains of Mohammad Maqbool Butt and Mohammad Afzal Guru from New Delhi’s Tihar jail to Kashmir for proper burial.

In Jeddah, renowned writer and former Saudi diplomat, Dr. Ali Al Ghamdi at a symposium on ‘Kashmir and the obligation of Muslim World’ urged the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to seriously strive to resolve the long-pending dispute over Jammu and Kashmir. The symposium was organized by Pakistan Repatriation Council as part of the Kashmir Solidarity Day.
