Pakistan’s liquid foreign reserves reach US$20,759.6 million

Karachi, January 14, 2016 (PPI-OT): State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) on Thursday announced that the total liquid foreign reserves of the country stood at US$20,759.6 million on 08 January 2016. The break-up of the foreign reserves position: Foreign reserves held by the SBP are US$15,824.0 million; Net foreign reserves held by banks are US$4,935.6 million, and total liquid foreign reserves are US$20,759.6 million.

During the week ending 08 January 2016, SBP’s Liquid FX Reserves decreased by US$59 million to US$15,824 million, compared to US$15,883 million in the previous week. This decrease was due to payments of US$60 million on account of external debt servicing.
