Pakistan’s Liquid Foreign Reserves Position

Karachi, March 21, 2019 (PPI-OT): The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$15,709.6 million on 15 March, 2019. The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:-

i) Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 8,838.7 million

ii) Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks: US$ 6,870.9 million

iii) Total liquid foreign reserves: US$ 15,709.6 million

During the week ending 15 March 2019, SBP received inflow of US$1,000 million from UAE as placement of funds. After taking into account outflows relating to external debt and other official payments, SBP reserves increased by US$716 million during the week.
