Pakistan’s Liquid Foreign Reserves Position

Karachi, January 03, 2019 (PPI-OT): The total liquid foreign reserves held by the country stood at US$13,837.8 million on 28 December, 2018. The break-up of the foreign reserves position is as under:-

i) Foreign reserves held by the State Bank of Pakistan: US$ 7,287.5 million

ii) Net foreign reserves held by commercial banks: US$ 6,550.3 million

iii) Total liquid foreign reserves: US$ 13,837.8 million

During the week ending 28 December 2018, SBP’s reserves decreased by US$170 million to US$7,287.5 million, due to external debt servicing and other official payments.
