Pakistani university students visiting Japan under Japan-South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation Youth Exchange Program

Islamabad, February 07, 2014 (PPI-OT): The Government of Japan has invited a delegation of 11 Pakistani University Students who were chosen by their respective universities in Rawalpindi and Islamabad to visit Japan, under the “JENESYS 2.0” Programme, from 9th February to 18th February 2014. University students from member countries of SAARC have been invited by the Japanese government to participate in this short tern invitation programme. 12 university students from Karachi and Quetta are also visiting Japan under the same programme.

“JENESYS 2.0” (Japan-East Asia Network of Exchange for Students and Youths) is a youth exchange programme between Japan and SAARC countries to reaffirm and strengthen the bond between Japan and SAARC countries.

Under this programme, participants will be given opportunities to deepen their understanding on Japan’s cutting-edge high technologies and its support for local and creative industries, experience Japan’s traditional culture, and communicate with local people. This programme is expected to develop mutual understanding among youths in Japan and SAARC countries.

Mr. Hiroshi Inomata, Ambassador of Japan to Pakistan, handed over travel documents to the selected students from Pakistan at an orientation ceremony held today at the Embassy of Japan.
