Lahore, March 17, 2015 (PPI-OT): The members of the trade delegation, which is on the 13-day visit to Australia, had a number of high-profile meetings with their Australian Counterparts and officials of the Pakistani and Australian governments.
The delegation attended a dinner hosted by the Pakistani Consul General in Australia Abdul Aziz in honor of the delegation members. Assad Jattoi of Trade Development Wing of the Pakistani Consulate in Australia and a number of businessmen from Energy, Oil, Consumer goods and various other sectors were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Head of the delegation and LCCI Vice President Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi paid rich tributes to the efforts of Pakistani Consul General in Australia Abdul Aziz for promotion of trade between the two friendly countries.
He said that existing trade volume does not match the potential of the two countries therefore private sector of Pakistan and Australia should play role for strengthening the economic ties between the two countries.
The delegation also visited the offices of various Chambers of Commerce and Industry and trade associations.
The Deputy Head of the delegation informed the Australian businessmen that Pakistani businessmen were keen to start joint ventures with their Australian counterparts.
Syed Mahmood Ghaznavi called for sector-specific measures to expedite timely exchange of trade related information that would help business doing people of both countries to further strengthen their trade relations.
He said that that to identify the ways to enhance cooperation between the two countries, there is a need to observe the commodity wise trade trends that would ultimately help evolve a strategy to further strengthen bilateral relations.
