Pakistani Fashion Designers mesmerize Singaporeans

Islamabad: A Charity Gala Dinner cum Fashion Show and Music with the theme “Rhythm and Colours of Indus” was held at the Ritz Carlton Hotel Singapore on Saturday 5th May 2012 by the Singapore Pakistanis Association for Indus Hospital Karachi and PPIS(Persatuan Pemudi Islam Singapura) Singapore, says a press release received here today from Singapore.

The Indus Hospital in Pakistan provides specialized medical care in an impressive, state-of-the-art health centre completely free to people in dire need of help. PPIS (Persatuan Pemudi Islam Singapura) has developed to be an organisation for not only educating and nurturing women, but also as an organisation that empowers Malay/Muslim families with holistic socio-economical rebuilding and enrichment programmes.

The Rhythm and Colours of Indus, presented the collections of Noor Jehan Bilgarmi, Zaheer Abbas and Fazia Samee, Amin Gulgee’s unique brands of Fashion apparel, Bronze jewellery reflecting the ancient Greek era and the medieval influences mesmerizing the 350 guests. The Indus Valley has been a melting pot of civilizations making modern day Pakistan among the select few countries of the world to bean inheritor of such a rich multi-cultural heritage.

Former President S.R. Nathan and his wife were the guests of honour. The function was also attended by the Minister of State for Foreign Affairs Mr. Masagos Zulkifli, Syed Hasan Javed , High Commissioner for Pakistan, Ambassadors and High Commissioners of 20 countries, CEOs of Singapore companies.

A large number of Pakistani businessmen, professionals and their wives were also present to witness the evening of Rhythm and Colours. On this occasion funds were raised through auction of Carpets, Paintings and antique European Shawls from private collections of the distinguished Pakistani expatriate families and the Sponsors. Dresses of Noor Jehan and Faiza Samee were also auctioned.

Zeb and Haniya the stars of the Pakistani Music scene thrilled the audience by their Urdu, Pushto and Turkish songs. It was an evening which portrayed the Pakistani vibrant fashion, fusion jewellery, music and above all the generosity and the spirit of the nation in caring of the needy.
