Islamabad, June 27, 2013 (PPI-OT): Cuba is organizing FIHAV 2013 in November 2013 in Havana, which is the largest annual multi-sector trade fair and Pakistani entrepreneurs should take active part in this event to showcase export potential of their products. H.E. Mr. Jesus Zenen Buergo, Ambassador of Cuba made these remarks during an interaction with local businessmen at Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He said FIHAV 2013 would be a complete national and international exhibition that shall be held from 3rd to 9th November 2013 in Havana and large number of products including advanced materials, agricultural technology and equipment, food and beverages, automotive, bio-industries, building products, chemicals, consumer products, electric power equipment and services, information and communications technology, manufacturing technologies, metals, minerals and oil and gas equipment etc. would be put up for display.
He said over 3000 companies from 62 countries participated in the 2012 edition of FIHAV. Thus the event offers tremendous opportunity to Pakistani businessmen to participate and establish contacts with their counterparts in areas of interest, exchange experiences and learn about technological advancements for further expansion of their enterprises.
The Cuban Ambassador said that Cuba is a gateway to Latin American countries and improved trade relations with Cuba would facilitate Pakistani entrepreneurs in getting access to huge Latin American market. He stressed that ICCI should sign a Joint Cooperation Agreement with Cuban Chamber of Commerce and Industry to promote private sector linkages, which will helpful in bolstering bilateral trade and economic relations between the two countries.
Speaking at the occasion, Zafar Bakhtawari, President, Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry said that Pakistan and Cuba cherish friendly diplomatic relations and efforts should be made to transform these good relations into growing trade and economic relations between the two countries.
He said both countries have great scope to promote cooperation in higher education, agriculture, industry, science and technology, biotechnology, pharmaceuticals and many other areas. He said frequent exchange of trade delegations and holding single country exhibitions should be encouraged that would be helpful in enhancing trade volume between the two countries.
He assured that ICCI would try to participate in the FIHAV 2013 to explore new avenues of promoting trade and exports with participating countries.
