Islamabad, March 19, 2014 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Interior and Narcotics Control, Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan has said that Pakistan values its close ties with Bahrain and wishes to strengthen them in all fields particularly cyber-crime, border security, civil defence and international crime.
He said this while talking to Lt. General Sheikh Rashed bin Abdullah Al-Khalifa, Bahrain’s Minister for Interior who met him here today. The Minister said that both countries share common faiths, cultures and values which strengthen the bond between the two countries.
Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan invited his Bahraini counterpart to pay a longer visit to Pakistan at his convenience so that matters agreed upon in the MoU signed between the Interior Ministries of two countries, can be discussed in detail.
In the meantime, he proposed that committees be formed by both sides to look deeper into specific areas of cooperation setting timelines. He said that Pakistan has a state-of-the-art system of registration under NADRA and the kingdom of Bahrain can benefit from our expertise in this field.
General Rashed briefed the Minster about security situation in his country and the steps Bahraini government is taking to increase the use of technology in maintaining order in the country. He informed the Minster that quite a number of Pakistanis are working in Bahraini government and the private sector.
General Rashed is visiting Pakistan as member of the entourage of the King of Bahrain Sheikh Hamad Bin Isa Al Khalifa, who arrived in Islamabad yesterday on a three-day visit.
