Islamabad, July 14, 2013 (PPI-OT): Pakistan-UAE Business and Investment conference will be organized in Dubai in an effort to further broaden the business and trade activity between the two countries. Speaking about the proposed conference, former Ambassador Javed Malik, now an Adviser to the Prime Minister of Pakistan has said “the election of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has sent a very positive signal among business community around the world and has encouraged them to see an honest, transparent and dedicated government now in place in Pakistan.
This has restored investor confidence and several international businessmen and Investors including UAE based Entrepreneurs see this as a wonderful opportunity for them to consider Pakistan as a destination for their investments, says a press release received here today from Dubai.
The Advisor has said we want to utilize this positive sentiment and have therefore decided to organize the Pakistan-UAE Business and Investment Conference 2013 after Ramadan. It may be noted that in the past Javed Malik has successfully organized various conferences, seminars and forums to enhance business, trade and cultural relations between the two countries and led several UAE based business delegations to Pakistan for investment. The First Pakistan-Dubai Business and Investment Conference in which Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif led a high powered delegation from Pakistan was also organized Javed Malik.
The 2nd Pakistan-UAE Business and Investment Conference will be attended by top UAE based and regional business leaders and multinational companies with a view to highlighting the business, trade and investment opportunities in Pakistan.
Javed Malik said that “Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s resolve to have “zero tolerance” for corruption and assurance that investors will be encouraged through a series of incentives and special zones with added benefits has sent positive signals, and some companies who had put some of their projects on hold have been in touch with us to express their desire to resume their work in Pakistan which is a very encouraging sign”.
The Focus of the conference will be on energy as this is the top priority for Pakistan but there is a lot of interest in Agro based projects, IT as well as livestock and dairy industry, and it has been decided that sector specific roundtables, and focus groups will be organized during the conference in which relevant industry leaders will be invited so that the conference remain result oriented.
Giving further details about the conference, Advisor to the PM Javed Malik said that Pakistanis based overseas are keen and eager to support their motherland in every way and play an active role in the nation building process because they believe in the honest and transparent leadership of Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif.
He said that this conference, like all his previous initiatives will not cost a single penny to the government of Pakistan and the Pakistani community based in the UAE will themselves extend all support to make this conference a success.
