Islamabad, August 04, 2016 (PPI-OT):President Mamnoon Hussain has said that the country is moving in the right direction and with the completion of China-Pak Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects including energy projects, the country will have an economic turnaround. The President said this while talking to the parliamentarians, notables and government functionaries from Balochistan at the Governor House in Quetta, here on Thursday.
Governor Balochistan, Muhammad Khan Achakzai, Chief Minister, Nawab Sanaullah Khan Zehri, Speaker Balochistan Assembly, Ms. Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, Provincial Ministers including Nawab Ayaz Jogezai, Nawab Muhammad Khan Shahwani, Nawab Jangez Khan Marri, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, Advisor to Chief Minister, Sardar Raza Baraich and Obaidullah Khan Babat, parliamentarians, notables and senior officials were present.
“Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is a visionary leader who has been taking right steps towards development of Pakistan,” he said. The President praised the economic team of the government and said that due to sound economic policies, the country is progressing steadily.
“The economic achievements of the government have been duly acknowledged by the international financial institutions and Pakistan has been dubbed as “an emerging market” which bodes well for the future of the country,” said the President. President Mamnoon said that the country’s reserves have risen to the record level of US $ 23 billion and the government has judiciously utilized loans from IMF for retiring the expensive foreign debt accumulated by the past governments.
The President termed China-Pak Economic Corridor as a great blessing for Pakistan, particularly Balochistan. He expressed optimism that all areas of the country including Balochistan will develop and prospers thereby improving the standard of living of the people.
President Mamnoon said that corruption in the past has prevented Pakistan from progressing economically and urged upon the Pakistanis to wage Jihad against corruption. He asked the people to ostracize the corrupt and have zero tolerance for corruption. He expressed his satisfaction that there has been no major corruption scandal during the tenure of the present government.
