Islamabad: At the invitation of Commerce Minister, Makhdoom Amin Fahim, Thailand Trade Representative (TTR) Pichate Satirachaval is visiting Pakistan from 19-21 December 2011.
On its first day of visit in Islamabad, the TTR had meetings with Ministry of Commerce, Board of Investment and Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industries. This is the first such high level interaction between both countries in the last seven years. Both sides appreciated that there is a need to explore new areas of cooperation to boost the steadily growing trade, commercial and investment ties.
The delegation is scheduled to leave for Karachi tonight where it will have meetings with Trade Development Authority of Pakistan, COMSTECH and business representatives.
The visit of TTR will impart a strong impetus to the efforts currently underway to build a robust economic relationship between Pakistan and Thailand.
