Pakistan-Tajikistan to upgrade political and socio-economic relations: Speaker National Assembly

Islamabad, May 30, 2014 (PPI-OT): Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq called on Speaker of the Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan Mr. Makhmad said Ubaidulloev. According to the message received from Dushanbe, Tajikistan, both the leaders exchanged views on political, economic, trade, people to people contact as well as parliament to Parliament cooperation between both the countries.

They also expressed satisfaction on excellent bilateral relations and highlighted the need to further enhance these relations. Both the leaders also agreed for exchange of parliamentary delegations which would provide opportunity to either side for learning from each other’s experiences and exchange of views.

He underlined the importance of relations between Pakistan and Tajikstan in all fields especially in the fields of economy, culture and education. Sardar Ayaz Sadiq expressed hope for establishing closer relations between Majlisi Milli of the Majlisi Oli of the Republic of Tajikistan and National Assembly of Pakistan.

Mr. Makhmadsaid Ubaidulloev emphasized that development of equal and mutually beneficial cooperation with Pakistan is one of the priorities of Tajikstan’s foreign policy. He expressed hope that the visit of the delegation of Pakistan’s National Assembly would give impetus to inter- parliamentary cooperation between the two countries. He voiced satisfaction with the stable liaisons between Tajikstan and Pakistan as well as constructive cooperation in international and regional organizations.
