Islamabad: Deputy Chairman Senate, Sabir Ali Baloch has said that Pakistan highly values its bilateral relations with Azerbaijan and the relationship between the two countries was based on common culture, religion and traditions.
He expressed these views while talking to the Ambassador of Azerbaijan Mr. Dashgin Shikarov who called on him at the Parliament House Wednesday.
The Deputy Chairman Senate observed that the government and the political leadership are keen to further develop and consolidate the bond of friendship between two countries. Both share commonality of opinion on different regional and international issues and have supported each other on challenges faced by them, the Deputy Chairman further stated.
The Ambassador of Azerbaijan said that the government and people of Azerbaijan have always appreciated Pakistan’s support on the issues particularly the issue of Nagorno- Karabakh and not recognizing the Armenia.
The Ambassador observed that the economic and trade relations between the two countries need to be further strengthened and cooperation in energy sector needed to be enhanced for mutual benefit of the people of two countries.
Deputy Chairman Senate Sabir Ali Baloch appreciated the support of the government of the Azerbaijan, saying that cooperation in energy sector will bring people of the two countries closer to each other.
