Islamabad, October 17, 2012 (PPI-OT): Federal Minister for Regulations and service Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan held a meeting with a delegation of Pakistan Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Association (PPMA) headed by its Vice Chairman Nasir Qureshi here on Wednesday.
Meeting was also attended by Federal Secretary for Regulations and Services Imtiaz Inayat Elahi and Chief Executive Officer, Drug Regulatory Agency of Pakistan (DRAP), Arshad Faheem Farooq.
Briefing the participants the Federal Minister said Drug Regulatory Authority (DRA) Bill 2012 has been approved by National Assembly and assured the delegation that DRA will be facilitating body.
“It is my vision that the DRA should be in line with other regulatory bodies of the region and of international level”, the minister said.
The matter of contract manufacturing of drugs was also discussed in the meeting and CEO, DRAP informed that contract manufacturing permission has been extended till December 31, 2012 by policy board.
The Minister also constituted a committee to oversee fees structure and pending matters.
