Karachi, April 10, 2015 (PPI-OT): Sindh Minister for Local Government and Information Sharjeel Inam Memon has announced that PPP will soon hold a big public meeting in Lyari and it will be attended by the top PPP leadership.
This he announced, while addressing a press conference here on Friday at the Archives Complex. The Minister was accompanied by more than 28 district and provincial leaders of different political parties who joined PPP included from Tehrik Insaf, ANP, PKMAP, Pasban, PPP (SB) Group, Jamait –e- Ulema Islam, and other religious and political parties.
Minister said he was thankful to them as they have joined PPP unconditional and PPP is at present in contact with various people in this regard. Referring to former MNA Nabil Gabol, he said so far no decision has been taken in this regard yet. He said PPP represents the Federation in the country which has given immense sacrifices for the solidarity and integrity of the country and for the promotion of democracy and has continued reconciliation policy.
He said PPP has started its work and preparation for the local body elections all over the country including Karachi and we would give a big surprise to the people of Karachi in local body elections. Replying to a question about NA 246 by elections, he said PPP will remain neutral in this election. Minister said it is upto the masses to use their franchise for any party they like and fool proof security has been provided there with Rangers in command.
Giving his personal view he said this time election in NA 246 would be fair .Replying to a question, he said any member of any party along with MQM who would like to join PPP, we would welcome them. He said anti-encroachment campaign was continued in Karachi and this was being done to bring Karachi back to its golden shape, he added.
He ruled out the impression that this operation in Karachi was being done against one party and said this is totally baseless and unfounded. Minister said he was not under any pressure under this operation and so far more than 60 marriage halls have been demolished and this operation was being done across the board. He said operation against encroachments and occupation against amenity plots will be continued.
