Pakistan People’s Party Punjab law makers meet Prime Minister

Islamabad, January 29, 2013 (PPI-OT): Members of the Punjab Provincial Assembly belonging to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and representing Lahore, Gujranwala,Bahawalpur, Sahiwal, Multan, D.G.Khan and Faisalabad Divisions met Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf at the PM House this evening and discussed the political situation of the country with special reference to the forthcoming General Elections.

The Prime Minister said that completion of the tenure by civil government was an achievement which was made possible due to the policy of reconciliation and the sagacity demonstrated by President Asif Ali Zardari.

The Prime Minister praised the courage and bravery of the Members of Provincial Assembly who remained loyal to Party despite challenging circumstances faced by them in Punjab.

Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf expressed the confidence that the coalition will be able to return to power on the basis of unprecedented developmental work carried out by the government and its performance during the last five years.

The Prime Minister said that the PPP led government had steered the country through difficult times and demonstrated its capability to face challenges.

The Prime Minister said that the PPP is committed to serve the poor, labourers, farmers and improve their living conditions. In this connection, he referred to Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) which has earned international acclaim as one of the most successful programmes in alleviating poverty.

Mrs Faryal Talpur MNA, Minister for Textile Industries Makhdoom Shahabuddin, Minister for Climate Change Rana Farooq Saeed, Minister for CADD Mr Nazar Muhammad Gondal, Minister for Political Affairs Mr Maula Bukhsh Chandio and Minister of State for Interior Mr Imtiaz Safdar Warriach were also present in the meeting.
