Lahore, March 08, 2013 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Industrial and Traders Associations Front (PIAF) has sought Chief Minister’s help against qabza groups that are quite active in Township Industrial Area now-a-days. Chairman PIAF Malik Tahir Javed was talking to a 10-member delegation of Lahore Township Industries Association (LTIA) called on him here on Friday.
The PIAF Chairman said that the businessmen of the area had a number of times invited the attention of the concerned police towards the activities of the qabza groups but to no avail. He said that only because of these qabza groups, the crime graph has registered a considerable surge in recent past and there is an increase in the theft of transformers in the industrial area.
He said that law and order situation is already deteriorating in various parts of the country therefore, the concerned authroties should play their role to mitigate the problems of the business community that is the backbone of the economy.
Tahir Javed Malik said that protection of businesses and businessmen is responsibility of the state therefore Chief Minister Punjab should take notice of the situation and issue necessary directions to this regard. PIAF Chairman said that a delegation of Lahore Township Industries Association would soon meet the IG Punjab and will give him a detailed report about the qabza groups.
