Lahore, September 12, 2013 (PPI-OT): PIAF-Founders Alliance candidates for upcoming LCCI polls and leaders on Thursday were warming welcomed by the trading community in various City markets including Hall Road, Circular Road and Cavalry Ground.
The Alliance candidates for Associate Class including Engineer Sohail Lashari, Khawaja Khawar Rasheed, Talha Tayyab, Raja Hamid Riaz, Rizwan Ali Khalid, Muhammad Haroon and Muhammad Akram under the leadership of Iftikhar Ali Malik and Muhammad Ali Mian were prominent among others who visited the City markets in connection with upcoming LCCI elections scheduled for September 23 and 24.
At Cavalry Ground market the President Anjman-e-Tajiran Cavalry Ground Traiq Mughal and other leaders including Zafar Mir and Chaudhry Zulfiqar Ali assured the PIAF-Founders Alliance of their full support.
They said that the Alliance was a symbol of unity for the business community therefore it would be supported on all occasions. They also thanked the Alliance leadership for withdrawal of controversial SROs and raising voice against acute load-shedding during the year.
Speaking on the occasion, Iftikhar Ali Malik and Muhammad Ali Mian said that the continuity in policies was the name of the game as far as economic issues were concerned and the Alliance was ensuring this practice at Chambers level so that the economic issues always get prominence and priority.
They also expressed grave concern over the Karachi situation and said that it should be resolved at the earliest in the larger interests of the country and its people.
The Business community at Hall Road also announced unequivocal support for the Alliance candidates and pledged to continue their backing in the coming years as well.
Meanwhile a dinner reception was also arranged by leading businessmen In Model Town where the participants appreciated the LCCI working during the year and particularly mentioned its focus on the promotion of research culture in the country.
