Lahore, March 28, 2013 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Industrial and Traders Association Front (PIAF) has urged the Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) to play its role for the growth of exports in consultation with trade bodies including chambers of commerce and industry in the country.
PIAF Chairman Malik Tahir Javed expressed these views while talking to a delegation of exporters here on Thursday. He said that the TDAP’s prime task of Trade Development Authority was promotion of Exports but its performance is beyond satisfaction of the business community that is the main stakeholder as far as economic issues being faced by the country are concerned.
He said that Authority should reduce bureaucratic hurdles and keep cosistant liaison with the Chambers of commerce and industries and other trade bodies.
Malik Tahir Javed said that exports could be touched to the $ 50 billion mark if TDAP diverts its attention towards the market study.
He said that the Trade Development Authority should constitute exhibitors’ delegations to the outer world in consultation with the trade bodies because only they can identify the potential businessmen.
PIAF Chairman said that the TDAP must have a consistent liaison with Pakistan’s commercial attaches for getting and onward dissemination of trade-related enquiries to the business community.
He said that the TDAP should also establish display centers in Pakistani missions abroad to showcase Pakistani merchandise as in quite a few sectors Pakistani goods are matchless.
