Lahore, June 10, 2013 (PPI-OT): Pakistan Industrial and Traders Association Front (PIAF) has urged the government to eveolve a well-thought strategy with the consultation of stakholders to bring the economy back on the rail. Uninteruppted supply of electricity and gas, promotion of merit and asterity drive would not only enliven the halted-business activities but would also attract the much-needed foregn investment in the country.
While talking to a delegation of businessmen, Acting Chairman PIAF Khamis Saeed Butt said that public in general and business community in particular has reposed confidence on Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif with the hope that would utilize all available resources to remove the economic ills.
He said that expenditures of President and Prime Minister House should be reduced to cut burden on the national exchequers. He said that menace of corruption of should be delt with iron hands and corrupt elements should be given exemplary punishment.
He said that immediate reforms should be introduced in the Publis Sector Enterprises that were eating up more than 500 billion rupees annually. If necessary, these PSEs should be privatized.
He stressed the need to bring untaxed sectors into tax net to enhance government revenue. He hoped that Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif and Mian Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif will ensure participation of private sector into policy making process.
