Islamabad, March 06, 2013 (PPI-OT): Pakistan High Commission, London has clarified a news item carried in a section of press regarding deportation of Pakistanis from the UK on chartered flights.
A press release received from the High Commission here says United Kingdom Border Agency (UKBA) has been arranging special flights for safe deportation of illegal Pakistanis for more than a year. This year two flights have been flown from London to Pakistan.
In the month of March UKBA intends to operate two chartered flights on 5-03-2013 and 26-03-2013 for deportation of those Pakistanis who were illegal immigrants or have exhausted all their rights of applications/appeals for stay in the United Kingdom.
The deportation is processed in the light of MoU on Managed Migration signed between the Governments of Islamic Republic of Pakistan and United Kingdom.
The High Commission of Pakistan processes the travel documents for all such detainees who have exhausted their legal rights to stay in the United Kingdom for necessary repatriation to Pakistan.
Pakistan High Commission endeavours to release Pakistani prisoners and detainees in order to mitigate their sufferings in a shortest possible time.
A Consular Officer has also been deputed who regularly visits the detention centres and prisons across the country for expeditious release of Pakistani nationals. We ensure that no one is detained/imprisoned beyond the custodial sentence term.
