Pakistan High Commission in United Kingdom clarifies media reports that visa service creating financial burden on Pakistanis

Islamabad, January 29, 2013 (PPI-OT): An erroneous impression is being created by a section of the media and the public that outsourced visa service has been creating additional financial burden on the Pakistanis living in United Kingdom for obtaining Pakistani visa, says a press release received from London here today.

The fact is that the Pakistani nationals having Pakistani passport or Nadra Card do not require Pakistani visa to travel to Pakistan. Therefore, the media impression does not carry any weight. Pakistani visa is required only for the British nationals or the Pakistanis with dual nationality who do not possess a valid Pakistani passport or Nadra Card.

As per the visa policy of the Government of Pakistan, the Pakistanis holding valid Nadra Cards which are valid for ten years are exempted from visa. Similarly, all those having valid Pakistani passports are also exempted from visa requirement.

The High Commission would like to advise all Pakistanis (dual nationals) who do not hold Nadra Card or Pakistani passports to apply immediately for these documents to fully avail the visa exemption granted by the Government of Pakistan.
