Pakistan Football Federation issues show cause notice to Farasat Ali Shah on blatant violations

Lahore, April 27, 2015 (PPI-OT): PFF has issued a show cause notice to Mr. Farasat Ali Shah, Director MA and Project on account of highly controversial, prejudiced, biased and illegal conduct and role in the recently concluded elections of Punjab Football Association.

Mr. Farasat deliberately and in blatant violation of PFF rules acted far beyond the ambit of his duties, in a completely unlawful manner. He further supported and sided with a candidate in the elections, and also tried to pressurize the election commissioner to favour his supported candidate.

Mr. Farasat, on the day of the elections, displayed a highly derogatory and biased conduct and became a tool in the hands of one of the groups contesting elections, thereby putting to shame all values of fair play and transparency. Knowingly that he possessed no authority whatsoever, he tried to misuse his official position to the advantage of a group of contesting candidates, in complete violation of the code of conduct, code of ethics and PFF statutes and regulations.

Mr Farasat further sought to scandalize and bring into disrepute, the image of PFF, its officials and bodies through false claims and statements, in a section of the media, whereby being fully aware that this will constitute a stark violation of the PFF code of conduct and ethics. He has been directed to give his reply within 7 days.
