Lahore, May 12, 2015 (PPI-OT): To share the details with the media, a press conference was held here at PFF House addressed by Shahid Khokhar manager Club Dev. and Media PFF and Fahad Ayaz Khan Manager Marketing and Integrity PFF along with Mr. Tahir Nadeem director Ballon Sports (PPL Teams Kit Sponsor) and Bilal Afzal Director Shezan (PPL Launching and closing Sponsor).
PPL 2015 will be the 12th continuous edition of the League. In which 12 teams, K-Electric, Pak Army, PAF, PIA, WAPDA, KRL, NBP, Muslim FC Chaman, Karachi Port Trust, Afghan FC Chamman, Pak Navy and Baloch FC Naushki are taking part to play 132 matches i.e. each team against each on home and away basis.
A structured Pakistan Premier League was launched in 2004 by Pakistan Football Federation right after when the present President Makdoom Faisal Saleh Hayat took the charge of the PFF as President. Since then the PPL is being organized every year successfully gaining maturity every year. The 12th edition of Pakistan Premier League will be presented from August 2015.
Shahid Khokhar said that providing the solution to many problems in the way of League’s development, AFC under the guidelines of FIFA has designed and launched a comprehensive project named as AFC KICK OFF Programme. The basic concept of this programme is “Strengthen the Member Associations by improving the level of league and club management”. AFC Kick off Programme has been instigated in Pakistan through a detailed joint study of the structure of football in Pakistan by AFC and PFF for which FIFA and AFC held several visits to PFF to take all the stakeholders on board.
A number of difference making steps are being taken in the days to come to transform the present semi-commercial Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) into a fully commercial league through extensive marketing strategies, development of PPL clubs and better planning. Development of PPFL clubs is the other merit of the Kick off program for which PFF is going all out to assist the teams participating in the Pakistan Premier League.
Fahad Ayaz Manager Marketing and Integrity PFF said that PFF is much pleased to announce Kit Sponsorships for the PPL teams and PPL itself. This is a memorable moment in the history of Pakistan’s football for which we are grateful to Mr. Tahir Nadeem, Ballon Group, Sialkot who has come forward as sponsors to provide free of cost kits, footballs and gears to the PPL teams. This will be a 4 years one of its kind contract. Similarly we are also indebted and thankful to Mr. Bilal Afzal, Shezan Regale for joining hands with PFF as PPL 2015 Launching and Closing sponsor.
These vital contracts are first step towards the new feel PFF and AFC intends to bring in the Pakistan Premier League through which where the PPL teams are being assisted by PFF, the quality of the product will also improve. We also request the corporate sector of Pakistan to take a step forward and explore the unlimited opportunities of brand promotion through football.
At this moment Shahid Khokhar further added that PFF also acknowledges the productive and very important role of the departments which they have successfully played to promote all sports disciplines in Pakistan particularly football. PFF also foresees more vibrant participation from the teams of PPL to transform into a fully professional league.
PFF with the support of AFC and FIFA will leave no stone unturned to take the PPL to a stage where the participating teams become self sustainable entities even earning profits and generating financial sources to spend on the development of football. He also thanked the active media of Pakistan which has always supported the right cause of sports promotion and requested a strong participation in the Pakistan Premier League matches.
