Dubai, March 23, 2015 (PPI-OT): Pakistan National Day was celebrated at the Consulate General of Pakistan, Dubai with national zeal and fervor. A large number of UAE based Pakistanis from all walks of life attended the ceremony. The ceremony began with recitation of verses from the Holy Qur’an.
Consul General of Pakistan Javed Jalil Khattak hoisted the National Flag at the Consulate premises while the National Anthem was played. He read the messages of President of Pakistan and Prime Minister of Pakistan to the audience.
In his address, Consul General recalled the great sacrifices rendered by our forefathers for a separate homeland. Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah, the Founding Father of the Nation envisioned a country where Muslims could lead their lives according to their own values and traditions, while the non-Muslims would also be free to practice their own religion, he said.
Consul General stressed upon forging unity among the rank and file of the Pakistani community. He mentioned that the Pakistani nation had witnessed many challenges and measured up to each one with resilience and resolve. He extended his warmest felicitations to the Pakistani community residing in the Emirates. He urged the Pakistani community to work tirelessly for the progress and development of UAE and Pakistan continue to abide by local norms under all circumstances.
Cake-cutting ceremony was held to commemorate the 75th National Day. The ceremony concluded with the resolve to make Pakistan a progressive, prosperous and peaceful country.
