Pakistan Cycling Federation’s meeting to be held on November 17

Lahore, November 16, 2012 (PPI-OT): PCF’s General Council meeting would be held on November 17, 2012 at Lahore Gymkhana. The council will deliberate on the cycling events to be organized as per the calendar activities with a focus on Karachi to Hyderabad Cycle race to be organized by Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) on December 2, 2012.

The council will also discuss the scenario created on the illegal claims of PCF’s former Secretary Idris H. Khawaja whereby declaring himself as President of Pakistan Cycling Federation. This situation is creating a bad image of Pakistan in the international sports arena.

It is reiterated that Union Cycling International (UCI) and Asian Cycling Confederation (ACC) the supreme bodies of international cycling have warned Mr. Khawaja on his bogus claim. Both these world bodies have strictly advised the former secretary to immediately stop misrepresenting PCF and to refrain from using Federation’s letterhead, failing to which UCI would have no options but to impose sanction on him. Both UCI and ACC have long ago accredited Mr. Munawar Baseer Ahmad as PCF President by sending their respective greeting messages.

PCF’s General Council would also review the recommendations of Union Cycling International (UCI) that UCI has proposed for incorporation in PCFs’ constitution for ensuring a flawless and legitimate constitution that is in adherence to UCI and IOC rules vide its e-mail to PCF’s President Mr. Munawar dated November 1, 2012.
