Berlin, July 05, 2013 (PPI-OT): Pakistan’s Ambassador to Germany Abdul Basit said that the Embassy would hold a convention of Pakistani students studying in Germany in Berlin later this year with the aim to promote cultural and educational ties between the two countries.
He was addressing the participants of a meeting of Pakistani students studying in different universities and other institutions located in Berlin and its surrounding towns, says a press release received here today from Berlin.
The Ambassador said that Pakistani students in Germany could be very effective in promoting Pakistan’s image in Germany as educational institutions provided the most significant avenues for lasting interaction between leaders of tomorrow.
The event provided an opportunity to the students to express their thoughts and ideas on enhancing educational and cultural ties between Pakistan and Germany as well as sharing the problems faced by them during their stay in Germany.
The Ambassador assured the students of all possible assistance on the part of the Embassy, underlining the need of “brain-gain” for Pakistan to address multiple challenges on several fronts. Presently there are over 2,300 Pakistani students in Germany attaining higher education in diverse disciplines.
