Karachi, September 29, 2016 (PPI-OT): Advisor to Federal Ombudsman Muhammad Yameen has Ordered to K-Electric to send bills to the Poor Citizens as per meter reading, he said that excess billing involved the poor citizens in financial problems who can not afford to pay excessive bill, he was talking on occasion of hearing of applications against K-Electric at Deputy Commissioner Malir’s Camp Office. Muhammad Yameen said that all the city is protesting against overbilling but K-Electrics administration is not taking any notice. He said that large number of distressed citizens is contacting to Federal Ombudsman to get quick and free justice who are disturbed by K.E. Applicant Farid Ahmed told the Ombudsman Court that I am a very poor man and sell potato chips, how could I pay excessive bill, Ombudsman Court after submitting the report by representative of K.E., upended the excess billing.
Applicant Luqman Khan told the Court that K.E. is not avoiding to send the bills on approximation, I am tired of whirling around K.E. offices, if the meter is out of order, no one comes for its repairing, the Court ordered to K.E. to install the meter on company’s expenses and to send the bill as per meter reading. Applicant Saleem Iqbal told the Court that I never theft the power but K.E. declared me as power thief and send a bill amounting Rs. 48000/-, I am a poor man and can not to afford to pay such huge amount, the Court showed ire upended the excessive bill rejecting the allegation of power theft and ordered to revise the bill.
Applicant Nasreen Bibi told the Court that I am hunt by excessive billing, I have received a bill which is not in accordance with meter reading, upon which representative of K.E. failed to submit the report and the Court ordered to change the meter and to send the average bill as per three month’s meter reading. Husband of applicant Razia Khatoon told the Court that he applied for connection in 2015 but still estimate has not been issued, the Court took the notice and ordered to issue estimate at once. Court also heard the applications of Abdul Jalil, Muhammad Siddique, Abdullah Siddiqui, Arsalan Khan and others and provided them instant justice. Upon which all applicants seem to be happy and went back their homes praying for Federal Ombudsman and his team.
