One killed, several injured in troops’ firing in Kulgam

Srinagar, November 14, 2014 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, a teenage boy was killed and several other civilians were injured when Indian troops and police personnel opened fire on peaceful protesters in Kulgam district, today.

People took to the streets at Chanigam in Frisal area of the district against the killing of two youth and destruction of four residential houses by the troops.

The troops and police personnel fired upon the demonstrators resulting in injuring of several people. A 10th class student identified as Tariq Ahmad Butt was critically injured in the firing and was shifted a local hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

The protesters raised high-pitched anti-India and pro-liberation slogans. The protests were going on when last reports came in.
