Omar pursuing policy of repression in IHK: Yasin Malik

Srinagar, April 13, 2013 (PPI-OT): In occupied Kashmir, the Jammu and Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) Chairman, Muhammad Yasin Malik has said that the puppet administration led by Omar Abdullah is pursuing the policy of repression and suppression against the people of Kashmir. Muhammad Yasin Malik, who is under house arrest in Srinagar, in a statement said that the puppet chief minister was directly responsible for killing the innocent Kashmiris and slapping of draconian law, Public Safety Act (PSA), on teenagers.

“People of Kashmir know that Omar is shedding crocodile tears on hanging of Muhammad Afzal Guru,” he said. The JKLF Chief said that Omar was well aware of Afzal’s hanging. He reminded that Farooq Abdullah, the father of Omar Abdulah, paved way for hanging of Muhammad Maqbool Butt.

He said the people sitting in the corridors of power or in so-called assembly had been assigned the job of giving a legal cover to killer troops. “The fact is that since its formation in 1952, this assembly and those who walked in and enjoyed it have only served the interest of India and have always betrayed the Kashmiris,” Malik added.

Regarding the rehabilitation policy of surrendered militants (mujahideen) of the Indian government, the JKLF Chairman said that it was only a political stunt of India and its puppets in Kashmir and they only wanted to use the home-comers as a tool in election politics.

He said that the people of Kashmir were fighting for a righteous cause and would continue their struggle till complete success.

Meanwhile, Muhammad Yasin Malik through senior counsel, Zaffar Ahmad Shah, has filed a petition in the High Court against his continued house arrest.

“He (Malik) has been denied all the freedoms as are available to him as a human being under the sun and has prayed in the petition that the armed personnel be withdrawn immediately and no obstruction be caused in his movements,” Shah said in an interview in Srinagar.
