The Political Consultations between the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) and the Russian Federation concluded at the Russian Foreign Ministry headquarters in Moscow on Friday.
During the two-day consultations, the OIC and Russia reviewed the state of their bilateral relations in all fields. They underscored the importance of strengthening the relations, diversifying their fields of cooperation and encouraging participation in conferences and forums organized by both sides.
Also during the meetings, they exchanged views on developments relating to several regional and international issues.
Friday’s OIC-Russian Federation consultations focused on international cooperation in countering terrorism. The two sides discussed issues of countering the spread of extremist ideology and propaganda, as well as the recruitment of militants by the international terrorist organizations. The meeting also highlighted the interaction between government institutions and religious communities for countering and preventing terrorism.
Later, the OIC delegation held a meeting with Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Oleg Syromolotov, during which they reviewed the key aspects of current global threats.
