Poor Citizens are in Pain due to overbilling of K-Electric: Muhammad Yameen, and Advisor to Federal Ombudsman

Karachi, August 18, 2016 (PPI-OT): Poor Citizens are in Pain due to overbilling of K-Electric, poor citizens are whirling around the offices of K-Electric but there is no hearing of their complaints due to which they contact to Federal Ombudsman office, these thoughts were expressed by Advisor to Federal Ombudsman during the hearing of applications from people against K-Electric at Deputy Commissioner Malir and #39;s Camp Office. He said that Ombudsman courts providing instant justice to applicants for which no any lawyer is required or fee, but agents are not allowed in the courts.

He said that problem is solved by mutual consultation in presence of officers of K-Electric. On this Occasion Hameeda Begum told that I am a widow residing in a house measuring 80 sq. yards with my only son, I never stole the power and allegation of power theft is quite wrong, do justice with me, after perusing the case, the court upended the extra bill and ordered to pay remaining amount in 10 instalments.

Applicant Ehsan Khan told the court that K-Electric alleged me for power theft and sent an extra bill upon which K-Electric and #39;s representative explained that there is an AC in his house but consumer rejected the allegation and told that there is no AC in his house, so the court upended the extra amount from the bill on approximation and ordered to pay remaining amount in 6 instalments on request of the complainant.

Applicant Abdul Wahab was implicated of Kunda connection by K-Electric who tried to declare the overbilling as right, but after inquiry the court upended the extra bill, applicants seemed to be happy on the decisions and went happily back to their homes. During the hearing of Nighat Jafri and #39;s application, K-Electric and #39;s representative produced the proof of power theft and photo of Kunda Connection, upon which court decided the matter with mutual understanding and provided the justice.

Applicant Aqeela Begum and #39;s representative appeared in the court who was implicated of power theft, after seeing the proof by K-Electric court said that how is possible to use the power and does not pay the bill and your meter show only 2 or 3 units? This is extreme end of power theft. Court on consultation with officers of K-Electric issued the warning to the applicant and upended the IRB from the bill and ordered to issue bill according to the load. Applicant Manzoor Hussain blamed K-E for over billing, when his bill checked as per the load, it seems to be correct bill upon which the Court said that bill is correct and you have to pay it, but instalment could be made. Applicants Saima Kanwal, Muhammad Sajjad Sarwar, Ashfaq Hussain and other were provided justice after upending the extra bill.
