Karachi, March 30, 2016 (PPI-OT):KMC Administrator Roshan Ali Shaikh has said tenders being called for construction of major roads in the North Karachi industrial zone whereas PC-I of 7000 road will soon be sent to the government after preparing it. KMC and DMC central would begin one day cleanliness campaign jointly in the North Karachi industrial zone. Cooperation will be provided for the plan of model industrial zone of NKATI. He expressed these views on a meeting with the delegation of North Karachi Association of Trade and Industry which led by its president Iqtidar Ali called on him in Civic Centre on Wednesday.
The president of NKATI informed the Administrator about the problems facing by the industrial zone. The Administrator of DMC Central Ayesha Abro, senior director municipal services Masood Alam, sr. director anti encroachments Bilal Manzar and other officers were also present on this occasion. Administrator Karachi said to delegation to prepare a project on solid waste management for the North Karachi Industrial Zone.
Separate space will be allocated for industrial waste of F.B Area and North Karachi industrial zone at the Jam Chakro landfill site so that the industrial waste could be disposed off through scientific method. He said the district municipal corporations were providing dust bins for garbage and waste, therefore citizens should dump their garbage only in them, heavy fine would be imposed in case of dumping of garbage and waste on roads.
Administrator Karachi said citizen’s cooperation was required for making city clean and beautiful whereas industrialists should also make the green belts in front of their units green and beautiful to improve the environment. Administrator Roshan Ali Shaikh said construction of roads in North Karachi industrial zone would start soon with publishing tenders in newspapers for major roads. He also appointed Nauman Arshad as focal person for solving problems of North Karachi industrial zone who would also work as liaison officer for coordination with other departments of KMC.
